An update on Tuberculosis Management was conducted for the staff of NIMH. The District Tuberculosis Control Officer (DTCO) – Colombo was the resource person for this.
A workshop on management of violent and difficult patients in Psychiatric Services was conducted targeting all front line clinical staff on 08.07.2020. This training is conducted under the supervision of Dr. Renuka Jayasinghe and Dr. Jayananda Horadugoda, Senior Consultant Psychiatrists. This is part of NIMH CPD programs.
CAN MH Lanka, with the support of IFES Sri Lanka, HYPE Sri Lanka and the National Institute of Mental Health, Sri Lanka organized a consultative meeting to design voter education materials on hate speech and inclusion of persons with disabilities to the democratic process.
The Monthly Clinical Governance Meeting for the month of July was held on 01.07.2020 and the focus on protection of patients rights – medico legal aspects. The main speaker for this session was Dr. Channa Perera, Consultant JMO for NIMH/NIID and CEBH.
An in Service course targeting, Nursing Officers, PSM Officers, PHMA and Support staff was successfully completed by the Quality Management Unit of NIMH. The final presentations of the trainees and certificate award ceremony marked the end of the course.
